Originally the prestigious Royal Hotel circa 1875; guests included Joan Collins and Sir Thomas Lipton, the Belvedere provides luxurious yet homely accommodation for up to 6 people. During 2020, an extensive program of external improvements were made to both the Belvedere and entire building, including new double glazed sash windows fitted throughout.
The stunning ‘Belvedere Viewing Tower’ boasts magnificent panoramic views across the historical Cinque Port town, Point Clear, St Osyth, across the Colne estuary towards Mersea Island and beyond to the East Coast.
Situated a few hundred yards from Waterside Marina, the promenade with colourful beach huts and sheltered sailing waters of Brightlingsea Creek, the Belvedere is an idyllic base to experience a quintessential old-fashioned seaside holiday in an area of natural beauty close to the Essex/Suffolk border.
In our first six years of hosting, we have welcomed guests from as far as Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States. The Belvedere is also listed on Airbnb, and since our first year of hosting, we have continually maintained ‘Superhost’ status based on our earning 100% 5-star reviews 100% of the time and with a response rate of 100% with no cancellations.’
